Packing supplies

Packing supplies comprise of a number of individual materials including boxes, bags, bubble wraps, edge protectors, envelopes, mailers, computer boxes, etc. Since the whole purpose of using packing supplies is to optimize on space available in the truck or van, the packing supplies also are made to conform to the strict space restrictions. They are meant to pack your goods in the most compact and damage-resistant way, so that the goods reach in exactly the same condition in which they were packed.

Perhaps the most frequently used item amongst all the packing supplies are packing boxes. These are made of cardboard and are available in a wide variety of sizes, to suit every need of the customer. Mailers, envelopes, slide loaders and bulk cargo containers are a few of the most common items in packing supplies. The double-walled heavy duty computer and file boxes are again widely used for relocation. Boxes are also available in different shapes to accommodate odd-shaped domestic items.

Mailers are envelopes are again two very useful items of packing supplies which come with a wide variety of options like bubble mailers, poly mailers, rigid mailers, and corrugated mailers. Vinyl envelopes are a recent development which has proved to be very convenient for movers. Bubble wrapping is a wonderful way to protect things which are fragile like cutlery, glass items, crystal, etc. Bubble rolls, bubble bags, bubble dispenser boxes, and bubble masks are some of the popularly used bubble wraps items.

CDs and cassettes are an owners’ pride. People are very careful about its maintenance and any transit situation demands taking extra care of these prized possessions. Shrink wrap is a good option for protecting them from any scratch or damage. Shrink wraps would include shrink film rolls, shrink film bags, and shrink pallet bags. Once you have shrink wrapped items or packed things in different boxes, the only convenient way to know which item is in which box is to label them properly. Packing supplies also therefore include self-adhesive labels. All you have to do is write the name of the item which is contained in the box and stick it at the relevant place. Some people also use numbering of their boxes to keep a better count of the goods. There is a wide variety of labels available including mailing labels, laser labels, custom-printed labels, barcode labels, magnetic labels, and vinyl warehouse labels. Then there are Poly bags, re-closable poly bags and other types of bags which are soft and can fit into any space because of its malleability.

Procuring good quality packing supplies is critical if you wish to ensure damage-free relocation of your household or office goods. These are available widely online as well as at your local retail store. Make a list of items that you are likely to move and then buy the packing supplies accordingly.

To ensure that your packing boxes do not tear or break during transit, never load the heaver items all in one box. Divide them or dismantle them in smaller pieces which will make it easier to lift and shift as well, without either the box or the goods getting damaged en route.
